Torah Morah ("we," "our," or "us") is dedicated to helping students and teachers learn Hebrew decoding and Torah cantillation. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Torah Morah app, you agree to the practices described here. The app was created by Adam Bellows and is partnered with Congregation Beth Elohim.
We collect the following types of information to provide and improve the app and allow your data to be shared among your devices signed into your account:
Information we collect is used to:
We do not sell any personal information, and we do not use your data for advertising.
Torah Morah is designed with young learners in mind, including students who may be under 13. We collect only the information necessary to operate the app's educational features, such as progress and classroom data, and we do not knowingly collect more than is needed. Parents, teachers, and students who believe a student has provided information beyond what is necessary may contact us to request its removal.
Teachers may create classrooms and share a join code with their students. Once a student joins a classroom, their name, username, progress and frequently missed questions become visible to that classroom's teacher. Student accounts and classroom data are password protected, and classroom data is only accessible to the teacher who created the classroom. Be aware that anyone can become a teacher and create classrooms, so please be mindful of which classes you join. A student can currently only be in one class at a time.
Account and progress data are stored on secured servers via our server and protected using industry-standard practices, including password hashing and authenticated access. While we work to protect your information, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We do not share personal information with third parties for any purposes. Information may be disclosed if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users, or in connection with service providers who help us operate the app under confidentiality obligations.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account and progress data at any time. Teachers may delete classrooms they created, which removes associated classroom data. You can also email a request to change your password if you forget it. Currently, email requests to info@torahmorah.org. You can delete your account via the Settings panel.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page along with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or about the app, please reach out – we would love to hear from you.
